Lord, Light My Way

H2odevos p4p Lent 2013 “Lord, Light my way.”

Oh Lord Light my way
Love light my way
Together now we pray
Oh Lord Light my way

Lord Light My Way by Peter Mayer

About one year ago I made a special trip to the British Museum. I've been there many times, but each time I go I see something which amazes me. On this particular day it was the Rosetta Stone.  Normally this stone is surrounded by visitors. But, on this day it was pretty much deserted. I quickly took a picture of it and then moved on to other exhibits. The stone, of course, has three scripts on it, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Demotic and ancient Greek. It provided the "key" to understanding the hieroglyphs.

The little votives in the labyrinth are "leftovers" from Westminster Abbey.  If you go to their website here it states, "Founded in 960."  I always get a charge out of that, because it signals to me a sense of confidence and hope like, "We've been in business for some time now. We've seen it come and go."

People, communities and institutions all look at times for direction and advice.

Peter's song is a lovely little prayer for this Fifth Sunday in Lent.

Oh Lord Light my way
Love light my way
Together now we pray
Oh Lord Light my way
Blessings,
rtg
